GREEN AND EFFICIENT POWER TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD

Cygni Energy is an IIT Madras incubated start-up founded by Venkat Rajaraman in 2014 with the aim of providing green and efficient power to every household. Cygni Energy in association with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has developed 48V inverter less DC technology. The Solar DC Inverterless system, consisting of DC solar generation, the DC power line, DC appliances, and battery, is a landmark innovation with the potential to be rapidly deployed in every home and office in India as well as in homes across the world. The efficiency of the system eliminates the typical conversion losses by 40–45% associated with the traditional AC devices and contributes to building energy security.

Cygni CEO Venkat Rajaraman spoke on the webinar on 15 May 2020, on the important topic of ” Mainstreaming Solar DC Applications“. Mr. Rahul Bagadia of pManifold moderated the session with Mr. Vimal Mahendru, President of Legrand India, and Mr. William Brent, Chief Engagement Officer of Power for All, as speakers.  The major topics discussed in the webinar were,

Cygni conducted a Live Webinar on “Li-Ion Battery for Electric Vehicle” on 13 May 2020. The speakers were Paramjit Singh (COO, Cygni),  and Vipul Jain (AVP – Operations, Cygni). The webinar was conducted in the Hindi language. The participants were keen to understand about E-Rickshaw industry and a Lithium-Ion battery. The major topics discussed in the webinar were,

Cygni Energy is a proud recipient of the USICEF’s fifth grant towards project preparation activities for distributed renewable energy projects. This is administered by the Climate Policy Initiative who serves as Program Manager. Hopefully, this should help expand our clean energy access footprint in India.

Cygni Energy participated in Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN) organized India Energy for All Summit (IEAS) from February 4-5, 2020 at New Delhi.  In its fourth edition, IEAS aimed to fast track India’s clean energy transition by scaling up the use of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) and supporting the bid to achieve its global commitment to Nationally Determined Contributions and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

After lighting up more than 50,000 households with the Inverterless Solutions, Cygni Energy has launched new variants to its product basket.
Inverterless DUO and Electric Vehicle Battery were unveiled during the product launch event organized by Cygni Energy at Hilton Garden Inn, Lucknow on 29 January 2020. Chief Guest Mr Rajeev Sharma Standardization Head, Bureau of Indian Standards, inaugurated the event. Speaking at the event, Shri Rajeev Sharma said that “BIS has published Indian Standard IS 16711 on Low Voltage DC Distribution Systems which is the first standard on the subject published anywhere in the world and we are glad to see that Cygni products comply with BIS standards.”

Cygni Energy Ltd has been awarded the prestigious Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) award under the Most Innovative Energy Saving Product of the Year 2018.
